Though Introduced in 1967, the 1969 Chevy Camaro was extremely popular. Sales had progressively improved during the first few years of the Camaro and the 1969 Camaro set a new all-time high, thanks to its long production. The 1969 Camaro received a more updated look that was more aggressive looking than the 1967 and 1968 Camaros  The grille was more aggressive, the body panels where more square and the rear wheel openings where squared off. The rear body panel got new taillights that where multi-sectioned. In the front the headlight covers where partially see thu that were used with the RS grille package.

One o the option that was given to the public for the first time was the RPO Z11, which gave the 1969 Camaro the Indy 500 exterior package. There were only 3,675 of those produced!

The 1969 Camaro was produced with 14 different engine options. From the small but powerful small block all the way up to big block powerplants. The 1969 Camaro could be ordered with 2 variations of pure power in the form of the 427 V8.  The COPO 9560  (ZL1) option came with an all aluminum block and aluminum heads 427 that was pure muscle!  There where only 69 of those built which makes them high dollar collectibles.  The COPO 9561 came with a L72 427 V-8 that pushed out 425 HP, that engine was originally produced to be fitted in the 1966 Corvette.

In 1969 the suspension wasn’t much different than those in the 1967-1968 Camaro, however the RPO JL8 option gave it factory installed 4 wheel disc brakes.  That option was an expensive upgrade (around $500) and because of that there were only 206 with that option built.
